Wayfarer Sunglasses

Wayfarer sunglasses are a classic style of sunglasses made by Ray-Ban. They first came out in the 1950s, and were an instant hit, sweeping away all the style mores that had gone before. Wayfarer sunglasses were the first to use plastic, rather than metal frames. The use of plastic frames gave Ray-Ban's designers much greater creative freedom, and so they came up with the distinctive sharp lines which characterise the style. Wayfarer sunglasses were popular throughout the 1950s and 60s. Since then, their popularity has waxed and waned, but they have undergone a huge revival in recent years.

Wayfarers

Wayfarers are a classic style of sunglasses made by that giant of the sunglasses world, Ray-Ban. They are chic, stylish and suit both men and women equally well. One of the ubiquitous styles of the 1950s and 60s, wayfarers' popularity was revived in the mid-2000s, and they are still one of the most popular styles around. Their plastic frames mean that they can be made in pretty much any colour combination, which means there really is a pair of wayfarers for everyone. Try out candy stripes, tortoiseshell or just go for classic, plain black.
