Shades of the Season SS17

Source: http://www.pantone.com/fashion-color-report-spring-2017

Vivid colours such as fuchsia pink were seen across the Paris Fashion Week catwalks this spring, most noticeably in the dress collections of couture houses Hermès and Valentino. These items daringly styled in head to toe pink were similar to those seen both in the 1980s and also those heavily featured in the motion picture hit ‘Legally Blonde’ (2001). If you wish to channel your inner Elle then these Gucci sunglasses are key to achieving this.

Pantone recognises that intense shades of ‘royal’ blue are said to be among the most popular colours seen in the catwalks of Jason Wu, Hugo Boss and Kenzo among others. This is due to the colour’s calming effect and association with relaxation. If you have the confidence to wear these dashing hues then pick up a pair of these shades to be ‘bang on trend’ this season.

The colour report also features neutral colours for spring such as pale pink, sage and Hazelnut. These underlying tones are evident in multiple catwalks and used as transitional colours. They are a key wardrobe staple used year on year, so have full confidence in buying items in these minimalist tones.

As seen in Pantone, various shades of green are a key feature this season with grass green and a brighter zingy lime green being the most dominant tones. To reinforce the importance of the colour green, Joseph have also featured these shades heavily alongside blue hues in oversized shirting in their SS17 collection.
